Just because nobody ever posts here doesn't mean I can't start a review thread! Post your opinions of "Shore Leave" here. I'll be reviewing it after I watch it again...

I went to watch my tape this afternoon so I could write this review, and what do I see when I press "play?" Static! Apparently the power went out here while I was on vacation last week, and the settings on the VCR got reset. So I'll have to do this review off the top of my head. I loved this episode. The Melissa plot was just perfect...her conversation with Erik, the scene with McGuirk at the mall, and the ending. I hope Melissa has a bigger role this season than she did last. Poor Brendon, I hate to have to spend any time with kids like Fenton. McGuirk and Jason did not have very big roles, but did have some great lines (...and you can tell the Fairy Princesses they can kiss my ass
!). I loved the ending, and I loved the music. One thing, though...Erik was worried about Melissa's lack of feminimity? What about Fenton's masculinity? And, of course, most importantly, JOSIE LIVES!!!!!

Well it took me a second viewing, but I love this episode. Everything about it just worked so well. The ending was great!
And I still can't believe how much Fenton creeped me out.

I was a little worried about the new season, but I LOVED this episode! The whole thing with the fairy princesses kinda reminded me of girl scouts in a really creepy way. . . The whole plot with Fenton was hilarious, especially when Brendan got all despondant ("Yeah sure okay."). Josie lives ;D Errr. . . what else. Walter and Perry! Not a big part, obviously, but I just love 'em to death I had to mention. . . Oh yeah, Hi. I'm new.

UK Cartoon Network is really starting to annoy me... WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN THAT EPISODE??

Because it's part of the new season. And I have no idea if or when Season Three will air in the UK.
The next episode, "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" airs tonight.

I just thought of something i meant to post last time but I forgot... was it my tv, or was it hard to hear Erik talking on "Shore Leave"? The only reason i doubt that it was my tv is because i could hear all the other characters just fine, but whenever Erik was talking (both to melissa and to paula), i had to turn the volume WAY UP, which was annoying, because i couldn't hear everything he was saying. I hope he speaks up a but in tonight's episode. so... anyone else notice that?

I didn't notice it when I watched it on TV...but I did manage to download the episode, and noticed the volume in at least the scene with Erik and Melissa did seem a bit lower than the rest. Odd.

Read through this thread at Spectre's board...you'll need the eDonkey program. NoName's post (the first one on that page) should help you out for getting on the Digital Archive Project's server. That's where I got my copy. I think it's also availabe on some IRC channels and FTPs, I just don't know which. The DAP also has the second ep, "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," but get "Shore Leave" first...both are good, but "Shore Leave" is much better. It's also more widely available.

OK, having seen it now... me like!
Although McGuirk and Jason didn't appear as much as I'd usually like, Melissa had her finest hour. And, even Fenton was pretty good - "creepy" is an improvement on plain annoying ;D
